I wouldn't worry about the vitamin stuff, it's probably such a small amount it doesn't really do anything other than change the color.
Lola has had the green and orange ones and doesn't seem to prefer one to the other. BTW she's only 5 lbs and I bought her the large ones, she does fine with them. I'd end up throwing away the little ones when they were half gone for fear of her choking on it.
