We LOVE our door, and since it can only be opened with a magnetic "key" that Edie wears on her harness, only she can come in.
We put the doggie door in the outer storm door so that we can close the inside door and then the house is locked up.
When it is rainy and muddy outside, I keep the kitchen gated off so that Edie can't bring mud from the outside all over the house. IT stays in the kitchen.
I have to tell you a story about Edie and her door. She got up last summer at about 3 a.m. I heard her go downstairs, and then I heard her doggie door open. I looked out the window, and there she was, peeing in the back yard. I was SO PROUD.
Then I heard the doggie door open again, and I heard her coming up the stairs and back to bed. All without disturbing Mom and Dad. It was GREAT.
