Default Bugaboosmom or anyone who knows...Cleft Palate?

I was wondering what a cleft palate with a dog consists of? I just saw your terad saying that your puppy was drinking onhis own now and was curious about it. - I'm 24 yrs. old and only about 6 or 7 yrs. ago did I find out that I have a half cleft palate. My dentist at the time noticed and and was amazed b/c I didn't have any deformities. I've never done any research on it to really see what it is all about when it comes to humans having this but all he said was normally deformities come with a cleft palate. - So is what I was wondering is, what does it do to a pup. With me the only way you know I have it is if you stick your finger into the roof of my mouth. On the lft side it is like a normal palate and then it takes a drastic up curve on the right side. I can't even touch my tounge to the roof of my mouth on the right side. I always though it was normal until the dentist told me. - So is this the same situation with dogs???

Thanks...Crystal
