sometimes you just have to leave them behind, not every vacation spot works well to take a dog to, I travel with Lola but there are times, like when we go skiing out west that it would not be fun for her. Does not mean I don't miss her like heck and am chomping at the bit to pick her up the first thing when I get home, but I know that the place we leave her is fun and safe for her so that helps make it easier. Carmen sounds like you have everything perfectly set up for the girls to make it much easier on them, tell your friend to not freak out if they eat less, that's normal when mom is gone. just let her know their favorite things likes walks or playing fetch so they get to do that a lot, it will help keep their minds off your absence. LOL last time I picked up Lola from the yorkie sitter she did not even look like she wanted to leave with me because she had so much fun.
