It's a myth to call Yorkies (or any other breed) hypoallergenic. Yes, they have less dander because they have hair and not fur, but they do still shed skin cells (which is what the bulk of dander is composed of). It's also possible to be allergic to the saliva of dogs.
Spend a lot of time around one before you make the decision. Nothing is more heart breaking than getting attached to a pup and then having to rehome it.
