Hello and welcome to Yorkie Talk. Yorkies are wonderful loving family members. Raising a yorkie puppy correctly takes a lot of time and dedication. It's like having another child in the household. Most people that are allergic to dogs are not allergic to yorkies. My recommendation would be for you to go visit some breeders so you can see how you react to them. I think getting a yorkie with a silkie coat versus a cottony coat would also reduce your chances of having a allergic reaction to them.
Before purchasing a puppy please realize that it is a big commitment. Potty training can be challenging. I don't know your work situation but personally I don't recommend yorkie pups for people that work full time and are not able to at least check on the pup during the day.
