I am writing a new thread as I do not want to further hijack the original one with more comments. First I would say that as far as I know I made no comments on the decision that the OP came to regarding continuing the pregnancy versus spaying, nor did I give my views on the accidental pregnancy. Let me be clear, I well understand the dangers and immorality of breeding small Yorkies and I think it is 100% wrong. I see that allowing unplanned pregnancy in any pet dogs is wrong too. However I thought that enough YTers had amply stated these opinions and mine would not add anything new.
Usually when an OP comes on YT with a complex issue he/she is advised to seek the expertise of a specialist. This the OP did and I commend him for this. As far as I know, a specialist physician examined the pet, and taking all the facts into account, decided that continuing the pregnancy was the way to go. It seemed to me the die was cast, and as we did not know the patient situation or examine her, how can we say if it is the right or wrong decision technically? Only time will tell. I thought that all we could do now was to support the OP and help all we could, and pray for a positive outcome.
I made my first comment on the thread only to suggest that we do not delve further into the specialist details, but rather pray for the mom and pups. Nothing helpful could be gained in my view by exposing the qualifications and hospital of the specialist apart from ruining her reputation and possible her career if all did not go well with the delivery. I must admit that I thought that Lynzy’s stating the qualifications of the (unnamed) expert was to put our minds more at ease that the decision was at least made by one equipped to do so. Without research, I for one had no idea who she was or where she was located, and I did not see the need to find out.
I wonder now how the OP feels about the specialist’s name being released (indirectly, but we can all add 1+1=2) when he thought it was to be concealed? Why would the OP come back here if all did go wrong and all the YT experts are proved right?
I am so sorry the thread went this way and that the identity of the specialist even came into it. I hope my initial comment did not cause this. I honestly made the comment to calm things not to inflame and complicate matters. I want the OP to know I am praying for healthy little puppies to be delivered to a happy and healthy mom, and that the mom is spayed so that this situation never occurs again. This is a very hard and emotional time for you and I really feel for you.
In conclusion, I know at least one YT member here knows (I hope!!!!) that I am not an unfeeling cruel dog hating rat, but one who dislikes it when threads are attacking others.
