Maybe what made it tough with Cookie is that I trained her outside instead of on the pad (as she was trained before we got her) and I don't have a doggy door (which she was also using back at our breeder's). A doggy door is definitely a no-no for me since a yorkie pup in our area was stolen, so Cookie is always supervised in any outdoor time.
