I was thinking to train both ways as well, and this book was recommended to me. She seems to think we confuse our dogs if we leave pads all over the house. They should be taken to 1 spot and trained as you would if you were going to outside train them. She also claims not to let them out of your sight till they are trained. The book is very good, and inexpensive at $9.99. I would recommend it :
