I would try and talk to the owners....see if it's even their dog or they even want the dog. Eventually, someone else is going to hit it or end up snagging , if an animal doesn't end up killing it first so it's worth a shot trying to save the little guy.
If I didn't get anywhere with the owners and I happened to see it running in the road again, I'd for sure pick it up.
Of course, you could always go the route of calling Animal Control. They might be nice the first time they pay the owners a visit and tell them to keep their dog contained in the yard, but they probably aren't going to be so nice if they keep having to go out there because the dog is in the road. |
