Gracie has been chewing bully sticks for 3 years and never had a problem. I know lots of other YT'ers use them as well. They are not that hard and as the dog chews them they do get soft but that is good because it helps to clean the teeth and gums. It will harden up again when the dog quits chewing.

Pig ears are fatty and greasy. Little pieces can be torn off and could get stuck in the throat.

Gracie has a small mouth and I have never given her big bones. Any cooked bone can splinter so I consider them dangerous. Raw bones are an option but there is the sanitary issue. With a big dog you can put them out in the yard with a big raw bone and they will love it but it is the kind of thing that can grow all kinds of bad bacteria because of it being raw.

Most of the chew items you find in department stores and pet stores can be possible choking hazards. Be careful what you choose.
