I say if the belly bands work - use them - because they're a lot cheaper than new walls or carpet.
I tried the straight edged ones once before but Max just slid right out of them. Then we got them where they all went on the pads or outside so I didn't need them. Recently, we moved to a new house and they all have lost their minds and decided that they were going to compete for head of household - ha! (I am HOH)
I have a friend who makes them with elastic so I think I'll try those. Hopefully Max won't be able to escape out of them.
