I'm really cold natured, and keep the house up toward 78°. Given how I take my guys hunting and how messy they can get, I have always clipped them pretty short. (#7 - 3/8") Even through the winter, they generally lay on top of the Blankets, but occasionally fluff/flip them up and make a depression.

I just thought we were warm enough, until Navi (Chihuahua recue) showed up

She is the coldest natured Dog I have ever seen !
She will put her nose under her blanket, flip it up, and dash under it before it falls. Then, make a couple circles under the blanket, winding up with just her little black Nose sticking out. Several times when I check on her, I've had to use a Flashlight around the perimeter of the Blanket to see if She was actually there.
