I had one of those and the screen is a great idea - we had to back the outside of the screen with a decorative type of design work on it so she could not push the screen out. It is important that the decorated design. to be on the side they can climb on due to the chance of falls.
The screened door made her feel less closed in.

They test me almost to much sometimes! The screen would work perfect if it was just Ellie I had to deal with, but Lilly Anne just really cannot be left in a room without being in a pen.
