Puppies need to eat as much as they need to grow healthy bones, tissues, and organs. Your puppy food should have guidelines about how much to feed your pup according to his size.
I find a lot of people mention here on YT that the parents of their pups were 4 to 6 lbs and yet their pups grow to be quite a bit bigger. If you did not see both parents there is just no way to really know what size they actually were or the size of their ancestors. The genes back several generations on both sides of the family determine size.
If your breeder has any knowledge about dogs he/she knows your pup is not fat. He is just quite a bit bigger than what they made you think he was going to be. I'm sure he will still be a wonderful pet. |
