I'm surprised they don't have eye infections... When you suggest she clean the eyes, what does she say? Just "ok" so you'd get off her case? Maybe you should google some pictures of what CAN happen if she doesn't? Sometimes, visuals works wonders. It doesn't take long.. at least get a flea comb and comb them out..
