I would have blue acids testing done. If that's normal, then you could continue the phenobarbital. My dog has grand mal seizures and has been medicated now with a diff drug for nearly 3 years. I took him to a neurologist before deciding to start medication. Get some sleep, seizures are scary but there isn't more you can do. I'm sorry but it doesn't get easier. I'll never get used to the seizures.
