As long as you keep her protected and watch for any fever or other unusual symptoms you should be OK.

We had to wait a while before we had Gracie spayed because she was a bit on the small side. She needed to develop a bit more so she went through her first heat. We survived.

Call your vet and tell them when she went into heat. They will schedule her for the right time to have it done.
