I am so sorry that your baby did not survive. Please stop blaming yourself-you made a decision based on past experience. It sounds like you got him to the vet as soon as you realized something else was going on. He may have had underlying issues that hadn't been discovered yet, considering the fact that he did make it through the surgery only to have his heart fail. For such a young pup I think that heart failure is pretty rare.
I'm sure Bentley knows how much you loved him. He wouldn't want you to blame yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
