Your pup is losing hair and the vet said testing is not needed?
Mites (particularly an overgrowth of demodex) needs to be ruled out. Demodex are believed to be present in all dogs, but not in quantities large enough to cause hair loss. An excessive amount populating the hair follicles needs to be treated sometimes. It can also mean the pup's immune system is weakened (which is a good reason to hold off on spay/neuter). Ringworm also comes to mind.
Skin scraping at a minimum.
Culture if that is negative and the problem continues.
