Bo and I say welcome to YorkieTalk! Maggie will eventually thank you for getting her a sister, I'm sure. We added Bo to our household after having only our 8 year old Schnauzer, Woody, for that many years. Wow, it was a real challenge at first and I feared I had made a mistake but now they really really play together and it's so fun to watch. Bo was persistent in his attentions to Woody and did all the submissive postures. It took at least 2 months for Woody to warm up to him. And Bo got nipped a few times, nothing serious, just Woody reminding him who the Alpha dog in the house is. Shower Maggie with love and treats. The baby won't know the difference at first. Molly will get used to seeing Maggie get fed first and will accept that. Buy new toys that both will play with. Woody was REAL possessive of his toys at first. We have to feed Woody first and in a separate room (he eats different food anyway) and that way there is no snarling around the supper dish. Woody is a big pig so our biggest problem is keeping him out of Bo's food cause Bo is a snacker and doesn't eat it all at first. Bo's had to develop some pretty sophisticated strategies to keep the "enemy" from stealing his goodies!! See this thread,
