I never personally liked the washable ones. I liked being able to pick them up and throw them away especially when they are younger and they make more messes. Thats just me though. And I would definitely put them on tile floor. Make sure if you get the disposable ones to get the thicker ones. I have made the mistake of buying the thin ones before and they make a bigger mess than anything.
