My Ricky's hair looks a lot like your dogs hair. He is approx 2 years old and he has a horrible coat compared to my other guy. It's very thin, fine and it tangles super easy and it is very high maintenance. When I got him, he was very undernourished so that may have effected it's growth. I've thought about trimming it off, but he's such a little guy and he gets cold already and it seems no matter how short I trim him, it will tangle...unless he is literally shaved. I may shave him next spring if it doesn't get better.
He has been on good food every since I got him and it hasn't improved. He also gets pet tabs. I am thinking about getting some omega 3 supplements to add to his food in addition to what he's already getting.
