Dogs have such heightened senses of hearing, smell, sensation of movement that they easily hear you awaken, sit up, get out of bed and approach, turn the doorknob and open the door and by that time, look as alert as if they never slept at all. Being natural predators, they are almost always on alert during sleep for sounds, motion, scent and their normal patterns of sleep have them awakening frequently, unlike the human sleep pattern. After hours of sleeping, it takes humans some time to re-orient ourselves to the wakeful state but most dogs can awaken quite quickly as they do it several times during routine sleeping. I'm certain your dog is sleeping and has ample time to awaken and anticipate seeing you by the time you get to her.
