I mix up kibble and different canned foods all the time...different brands/proteins and we don't have any issues. Toki eats primarily wet/canned foods supplemented with whatever kibble Teddy is eating. When I buy her wet food, I get enough of one type for 1 to 2 weeks and generally feed her a different type afterwards (I have a certain group of brands I prefer to buy and I get whatever I can find a deal on from that group).
It should not be an issue using and mixing various types of proteins unless your pup cannot tolerate it. Some dogs cannot handle certain animal proteins or a certain protein/fat amount or whatever so that's going to be individual to your pup. So I would not mix 2 new things together just in case something doesn't agree with your pup...it'll be harder to pinpoint which one caused the issue. But to answer your question, it's fine to mix wet and dry food and foods from different brands so long as your pup tolerates it. |
