There are some pork based dog foods on the market but they are limited and usually mixed with other proteins as well. I believe the association with pork and pancreatitis is the high fat content of pork. Pancreatitis is an accute and scary and if a dog has an episode their diet is changed for life (and you are lucky indeed if a diet change is all ya need!) and low fat is a primary part of that. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Though I love to get lilah a fatty pig ear now and again I make sure to mix it up with veggie chews, bully sticks, cow ears, denta bites smoked bones and other not super fatty chews for treats and usuall stick with lamb, fish or poultry protein for her base food. We eat grain free too and use legume instead of potato more often than not to avoid a consistently high glycemic index (and hopefully diabetes!). Long of the short is she s probably alright but probably shouldn t make it a habit
