Your breeders recommendations are only her beliefs and standard practices and are not always what everyone else would recommend or would say is the best for a pup of that age. I would suggest discussing the issue with your vet and see what they would recommend the safest age would be to have it done.
The fact that you are being a responsible pet owner and getting your pup neutered is what is important !
