My Izzy had very gunky (is that a word) eyes. My vet did a eye irrigation under anesthesia for blocked tear ducts, It worked well for about a month. He then said that we may need to do this every 2-3 months. Not an option for me or my baby. That much anesthesia is too much for a 3 pound baby, so I took her to a opthamologist who tested her for dry eyes among other things. One eye was abnormally dry so we started her on liquid tears twice a day. While she ocasionally needs facial cleaning the drainage has almost cleared completely. It was definenitly worth the cost.
