 Potty Training
Hello, I am new here, and a new mom to a Yorkie Male, who just turned 5 months old. When I set out to find a reputable breeder to get my baby, I read a lot and went to Petsmart and bought a small crate, along with all the other new mom accessories. We immediately kept in in the crate every moment that we were not with him, including at night with peepads. Bailey (our baby's name) took to it and after a while moved him and crate to the laundry room where he was gated in but had his crate available. After a few hours we would tell him we were going potty outside and would take him, now he is free to roam the house and we have litterally not had but a few accidents. For a month now when he needs to go potty, he stratches at the door like my other dog (who is not a Yorkie). It was a challenge but it paid off, he now stays in our home happily and without accident. I love him so much! He was a Christmas gift from my husband after we spent so much time looking and preparing....one of the best things we ever did! |
