 Taffy's basket
I picked up a doggie item basket w/ a canvas liner on sale at TJ Maxx 2 years ago. We keep it next to Taffy's open bed crate in the t.v. room. He has over 10 toys in it now. I went through it last month and took out the little gift-toys some folks gave him (a small stuffed shoe, tiny dog) which he had left in the bottom as he didn't like them any more). He will actually stand inside the 7" high basket to sort through his loot...drop a couple over the side and trot off with his choice. He always takes out one of nis little yellow fetching-balls and later his 12" floppy, nubby-material elephant every day. The others he gets out to "entice us" if we have already played, and he hopes to get even more reaction. Some toys he just drags under the rocking chair (his 'den'), chews on them & takes a nap. He probably started with 3 toys as a puppy, but his collection grew over 3 years. I can tell he knows the difference between his toys very easily. It's easy to flip the toys back inside the basket..he never takes out more than 3-5 per day, and he will carry some right back to the basket area now when he gets another toy out! |
