Oh, Sally, I've got to watch for Broadchurch - sounds right down my alley.
The Cumberbatch "Sherlock" - just the first name - is absolutely brilliant and mostly very well-written - very very fast-paced, funny, dry, clever as the Devil dialogue but still Doyle-like in many ways. A bit on the dark side but still a great ride and thoroughly enjoyable and Cumberbatch is PERFECT as a younger, slightly sociopathic Sherlock. Still, he uses his sociopathy for good but he knows how criminals think as he's so very like one. His Watson is totally interesting, too, still Sherlock's daily muse. Brian Cumberbatch is currently in The Fifth Estate with blonde eyebrows and hair as Assange.
Scandal IS a scandal to watch. Very popular with Americans right now. Very politically oriented to the Beltway and oh so naughty to the point of a little tiring but it moves along so fast and furious you've not much time to grow restive.
