You got it! That's how it's done. Expect the rare accident to age 18 - 24 mos. or so but after a while, a Yorkie that has a great training program consistently carried out on schedule will eventually be scrupulously clean in the house. My Yorkies were a bit slower than poodles or GSD's, Dobies, to become totally reliable but they got there once I learned how to train properly.

When I'm training or after a dog is trained, I take the dog outside after any intense/exciting activity such as grooming, bathing, obedience training, visitors coming or going, delivery of a package, my getting ready to go out or arriving home, etc. I even take Tibbe out to potty after a walk!
