Have you ever taken a laptop or I pad type of device somewhere for the first time and when trying to connect to the internet you get a list of networks that you are close enough to receive their signal from and then you choose one to connect to, that is what she is talking about. I think that is where your IP address comes from and how one vote is managed, it's one vote per IP address.
So probably if you voted at home and then took your laptop to starbucks and log into their net work you could vote again. I think I am going to try this just out of curiosity, is it cheating who knows I doubt it happens that much anyway since it would be a pain for most people to do that often |
Ah, I see! Thanks for taking the time to explain. I see how cheating the vote could be done this way and no doubt some do it trying to get an advantage. Explains how some votes in some contests are so out of whack between the leader and even number two I guess. I've even read nerds/whizzes can get computers to use other computers on networks to vote and things but don't know if that really works or not but you sure do see vast differences in leaders sometimes - thousands and thousands of votes ahead of number two.
