I think the amount you are feeding is adequate. I have a picky eater and he usually only eats 1/4 of a cup per day, he is gaining weight and is healthy as can be. I leave kibble out for him all day to free feed when he was younger. Now that he is 10 months old, I feed him twice a day sometimes three times, depending if he's hungry. He lets me know when he's hungry. He will sit at his empty bowl and look at me until I fill it up for him. He is now currently 4 pounds. Yorkies are special, I have never had a picky eater before, my three other dogs will eat any and everything. I have to regulate their feeding so they don't overeat. That's not the case with Dooney, sometimes it's a struggle to get him to eat enough. Sure do love my baby though.
