I would never use a collar to walk your new yorkie, I'd only use a harness. A small harness should be fine, they are adjustable. I also use the retractable leash, its so much eaiser to walk them when they have room to roam or you can shorten it if you need to keep them close.
My yorkies seem to like all toys so its hard to choose which would be their favorite. Maybe when you go to the pet store you can ask the worker to show you the big hit toys
Mine like little cat balls, (sounds funny I know) but they are little balls that have a bell in it or something that makes a noise when you roll the ball around. I just bought this thing at PetCo that they LOVE its a fabric toy that says its for the freezer, you wet it then freeze it and give it to your dog. Mine were going crazy for it a little while ago .. good luck, maybe the seller will even send you with some of her favorite toys, that would be cool.
