I wondered the same exact thing about the mice too.
He gets a lot of gob too that builds up on his eyes. I try to get it as much as possible, but it's easier said than done. He doesn't really like it. I am going to take a pic of his eye right now. Give me a minute and i'll post it. Maybe someone can tell possibly what it looks like.
