Poor Charlie! Check the white of his eye to make sure it is not red or bloodshot. As long as there is no sign of irritation like winking, holding his eye shut, or colored discharge, then he should be okay tonight.
The sore could be a number of things, including a dental problem, or a simple bite or scratch. Definitely have the vet take a look.
