Ohmygosh - I'm so ingrained into spelling supersede correctly that I misspelled the variant- spelling "supercede" with the incorrect "c" in it that I should have typed in the above post in trying to make my point that
it - "
supercede", is only a variant spelling and not the correct spelling of the word to grammar purists. My parents, teachers would have reamed me out if I'd ever spelled the word supercede rather than supersede growing up.
