My .02:
Can you take an hour lunch on your long days and walk your dog after 6 hours? If not, I would consider doggy daycare, a dog walker or a dog sitter on your 12-hour days. Not because the dog couldn't be trained to hold it, but because the dog needs some stimulation during the day.
Think of a dog spending 12 hours alone, when it will mostly sleep while waiting for you. Then after a little stimulation, it will sleep for another 8 hours a day while you sleep. That's 20 hours of total inactivity a day, three days a week. You're begging for behavior problems because the dog is likely to get bored.
Again, just my .02. Good luck.
