I was off for three weeks when I got Teegy. Into the second week I would leave the house and put him in his expen for 15 minutes, then half an hour and gradually over a week up to 8 hours that I'd be at work. He saw that I was coming back and I've never had a problem since. I also have two doors in and out of my place, I use one for when I'm leaving for work and the other for taking the dogs out. If I go out the "dog door" to take out the bin, he and Tufty get upset because they are supposed to come with me, if I use the other door, they don't care.
