I've always had good results with the Petsmart training. One of our local trainers is also a friend of my mom. He told me there is no difference in the beginner and puppy class in terms of training. They do cover more puppy care in the puppy class, but the techniques and commands are identical. It all comes down to what would make you and your dog more comfortable. If you are nervous around bigger dogs, then take the puppy class. If your dog gets along well with bigger dogs, then take that.
