I know a lot of people that have yorkies and bigger dogs. It sounds like your boy has a nice personality. Yorkies come with all different kinds of personalities so you need to do some research to find out what kind of personality would best suit your household. I would also recommend a female because some males don't get along that well with other males. I think a little larger female would probably be best.

Here is a picture of Lucy, my daughters female yorkie, with her buddies. They get along great and Lucy rules the house. The other dogs are Bud, a lab mix, and Daisy, a boxer/American bulldog mix. Lucy is a very very active yorkie and she hardly ever sits still. Missing in the picture is my daughters other dog, Fred, who is a 2 1/2 lb chihuahua.
