The flea bath only kills fleas that are on her at that moment, I don't think it prevents more fleas in the future. So the one you found on her, she might have picked up in your home.

I don't know the age and weight of Molly, but just want to say to be cautious with flea treatment and meds. I wouldn't think using Advantix 2 days early would be a problem, but ask your vet what is appropriate for her size. I personally don't like the flea shampoo, and many here use instead a bath with lots of Dawn dish washing liquid (leave it on 5 min. then rinse very thoroughly).

Super cleaning the home, especially daily vacuuming is very important to get them under control.
