I'm glad she is better. Medicine doesn't work overnight. It sounded to me like she was sick for a week before she saw the vet and got the meds. Not suremif i read that right. That is probably why it took a while to recover. Please take her in much sooner the next time she stops eating. If you catch something early it will probably save you both pain and $. You can also call the vet and ask questions when something is off. When Maggie's poos are strange for a few in a row I just take a sample over. I don't go for the whole vet visit and it is cheaper. If the stool is fine and she is acting wrong, then I take her in.
Please research Giardia and make sure you have properly disinfected.
Hopefully all goes well. Also, if you don't get pet insurance you could start a little savings account just for vet bills. Maybe you could have a small part of your pay direct deposited into this separate account. Many people save the amount they'd have spent for the insurance premium. I keep telling hubby that he better be ready in case she ever needs knee or cataract surgery when she gets old. It is very expensive but she is our baby and he better not complain because I warned him and we didn't get insurance. She is only 3, so we have plenty of time and hopefully she never needs anything, but you have to recognize the possibilities. |
