If the dog isn't getting the care it needs when the little thing is sick with ongoing fever now and needs it now and not tomorrow, that's choosing not to get it care - whatever the reason - since it could get care ASAP if it were surrendered and a rescue help it out. So in effect by not doing whatever it takes to get the dog help today, it's your choice.
And then, what happens if tomorrow's vet visit requires a panel of blood tests and more shots, even an x-ray and then two or three more meds with more blood tests needed in a few days to monitor if the medication is affecting the liver or something. And if there is no money, what will happen.
