Right. If you don't get a sick dog needed tests, treatment for an ongoing illness and fever, by default you are choosing not to spend money by not allowing the test or whatever the first vet wanted to do that was not done or by not seeking out an immediate second opinion or ER vet when the dog gets no better within a couple of days. But we understand you are choosing not to spend it because times are so tough financially. Times are hard for so many right now and it's just awful. Sick little dogs are so expensive that if you can't afford the high cost of vet care during this hard time in life, it's really a kindness to go ahead and surrender the dog so it can get help and then it can be placed with someone who can afford expensive vetting. Surrendering a dog is not shameful if times are really bad, money very short. It's the kind thing to do to help the dog now when it is continuing to stay ill and feverish and then later, when life is less hard financially, perhaps then another dog will be easier to afford. Fever is something to get right on if it doesn't clear up in a couple of days on meds or spikes and the dogs just has to get all the testing and treatment it needs to try to get it well ASAP.
