The metronidazole is what is used to treat the giardia. I'm not sure why the vet is giving the clavamox but perhaps to kill any e coli or staph that might be present. Here is some good information on giardia:

Giardia is sometimes hard to get rid of and it may require her to be on the metronidazole longer. You also need to figure out how she contacted the giardia so you can get rid of the source.
