I used to have one but it built up hard water stains that were difficult to remove, my dogs could care less but my cats liked it. The best way to prevent crystals is just give some wet food with their meals. My cat used to get crystals that turned into blockage about once a year. This was the only way I could guarantee he got enough fluid in his diet.
