Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I believe there is no magic combination for gender when choosing 2 or more Yorkies. It comes down to the individual dogs. Males are not always dominant, and females are not always submissive.
I have 2 dominant/strong males, brothers from different litters, and they get along very well. They were both easy to potty train, so don't let anyone tell you that males are always difficult in that department.
I think the most important consideration is looking for a breeder who emphasizes good temperament in the breeding program, and who raises the puppies to be well prepared for their new home.
