So again Lolli wakes us up with a scare this morning. She was trying to walk to my mom who usually walks her in early AM and just collapsed. I had been awake already so I actually saw how it happened. Her rear end just.. gave in.
So naturally we took her to the vet ASAP, but I had thought it was to do with patella since we knew she's had it but just has been lucky enough to not have any symptoms just yet (albeit being a stage 3 out of 4).
But nope.. the vet looks at her and he's like you know strangely enough, the way she's walking doesn't seem like patella. So he does some tests with her legs and feet (I got to watch) and he palpates some of her back areas for which he explains was to see if she'd react from maybe a pinched nerve would give a jolt and whatever else he said medically that I was more or less just staring at him like

but basically he said he really believes right now it's a herniated disc. We could do x-rays but the first course of action probably would not change regardless of what it shows; steroid and muscle relaxer and a low dose pain med for when/if she shows discomfort/pain.
So we did that, we skipped the x-ray for now. I know this sounds terrible but it was not even a month ago we paid $400 and we agreed that if this regimen doesn't help her to improve that we would then proceed with an x-ray (they need to sedate her for it and all that shabang). She is walking but she just seems like its unstable back there. She's pottying fine and everything, ears are alert, tail is up when she does walk, but she doesn't really like to be walking.
So I just wanted to know, has anyone else had their baby get a herniated disc and does it seem similar to what happened with us?
